Insight 1: Strength is a choice
Moses tells Joshua to "be strong and resolute" twice. He isn't saying, "don't be scared." He’s saying that even when you are scared, you can choose to act with courage.
Insight 2: You aren't doing it alone
Notice that Moses doesn't tell Joshua, "You’re on your own now!" He reminds him that God is "marching with you." Success in Judaism isn't about being a lone hero; it's about staying connected to your values and your Source.
Apply It
This week, when you face a task that makes you nervous, take 30 seconds to breathe and say to yourself: "I am strong and resolute, and I am not doing this alone."
Chevruta Mini
- Why do you think Moses repeats the instruction "be strong and resolute" so many times?
- When you are going through a big change, what helps you feel supported?
Takeaway
Even when you are stepping into the unknown, you have the strength to keep moving forward.
