Host Shabbat dinner without the spreadsheet.
Shabbox carries you from "should we host Friday?" all the way to candle-lighting — and then to the part every other planning app forgets: Friday afternoon, when the phones go away and the table still has to work.
The week
- Create a dinner — the date suggests the next Friday, and candle time resolves from your location
- Invite guests with a card and a link; they RSVP with a party size, and it lands on your phone live
- A bring-list your guests claim themselves, so nobody arrives with the sixth salad
- Per-guest dietary notes and allergies, shown everywhere that guest appears
- A co-host gets the host tools too — hosting is usually two people
- Thursday: the Host Kit arrives, with the week's parsha, table questions pitched at your guests, and the brachot
The cooking part
- A shopping list that merges the bring-list by product and adds the quantities up
- Ingredients for the dishes you're making yourself, kept per dish, exactly as you typed them
- A menu of courses and dishes, and which bring-list item belongs to which
Afterwards
- Host this again, with the guest list and bring-list carried forward
- A guest memory that quietly knows you haven't had the Cohens over in eight months
- A journal that writes its own first draft while you're still doing the dishes
Friday, on paper
One printed page holds the whole dinner: candle-lighting time, the address and door instructions, who is sitting where, every allergy at the table, table questions by age, the brachot, and what is still owed. It exists because the people at your table can't use a phone on Shabbat, so print is the only thing that actually reaches them.
No invented recipes
The app suggests no dishes, writes no recipes, and infers no ingredients from a name. You know what you're making; a wrong ingredient list is worse than none.
Invite-only, by design
Guests join through Apple's own iCloud sharing — no account with us, and no Shabbox sign-up for anybody. Your location is used only to work out candle and Shabbat times.
