Hook

Founders are obsessed with "integrations." We spend our nights worrying about whether our API stack is tightly coupled or loosely coupled, whether a new feature acquisition will dilute our brand equity, or if a pivot will render our technical debt insurmountable. We treat our company like a living organism, constantly stitching new patches onto the legacy quilt of our codebase and culture. But here is the silent killer: Context Collapse.

When you acquire a smaller firm, onboard a new department, or bolt a legacy product onto your modern SaaS platform, you are performing a theological operation. You are asking: "Does this new component become part of the whole, or does it remain an alien entity?" If you get it wrong, you end up with "technical uncleanness"—a state where your system behaves unpredictably because the parts don’t actually belong to the same category.
