Hook

Have you ever stood in a room right after hearing terrible news, where the air suddenly felt heavy, strange, and charged? Or have you ever walked through an old attic or antique shop, looked at an object from another century, and wondered where the boundary lies between the past and the present?

Human beings struggle with borders. When something massive happens—like birth, love, or death—our emotions spill everywhere. We get overwhelmed because life does not naturally arrive with tidy fences. When someone we love passes away, or when we face the raw reality of physical loss, our instinct is often either to freeze up or to look away entirely. Death feels boundless. It fills the room. It demands everything from us, yet it gives back no clear instructions on how to handle the quiet space left behind.
