Founders love the idea of "agile boundaries." We pivot, we iterate, and we treat our org charts like fluid assets. But there is a hidden, dangerous assumption in modern startup culture: the idea that because something is "internal" or "part of the system," it is somehow protected from external contagion.

We convince ourselves that if we keep our failures in a "side project," a "shadow IT department," or a "failed pilot program," that the toxicity won’t bleed into our core operations. We think that as long as we have a door, a wall, or a thin layer of process, we are safe. Mishnah Oholot 6:4 shatters this delusion.
