Insight 1: Wisdom Builds Bridges, Not Walls

The text tells us God gave Solomon wisdom. The ancient commentators (like Malbim and Ralbag) point out that this wisdom helped Solomon make peace with King Hiram. It wasn't just knowing facts; it was knowing how to connect with people.

Insight 2: Peace Clears the Way for Greatness

Because Solomon had wisdom and peace with his neighbors, he was finally able to build the First Temple! Imagine trying to build a huge project with squabbles all around. Peace allowed him to focus his energy and resources on this incredibly important task.

Apply It

This week, pick one small goal you have. Before you start, try to smooth over any tiny tensions in your environment or relationships. Notice how a bit of peace helps you move forward with your goal. Even a minute of calm can make a difference!

Chevruta Mini

Grab a friend (or just think to yourself!):

  1. Can you think of a time when being "wise" (or just smart about people) helped you avoid a silly argument?
  2. What's one project you've worked on that truly benefited from everyone working together peacefully?

Takeaway

Wisdom that creates peace is a powerful tool for building truly great things.
