Insight: The Dew of Connection

In Deuteronomy 32:2, Moses compares his final teachings to "the dew." Unlike a violent storm that washes away the soil, dew arrives quietly, consistently, and penetrates deeply to sustain life. As we navigate the chaos of parenting—especially during the intensity of the High Holy Days—we often feel pressure to "command" our children into righteousness. But Moses models a different way: speech that distills, nurtures, and connects. The Kli Yakar teaches that our words are the "intermediary" between the heavens and the earth. When we speak with patience and grace, we aren't just giving instructions; we are building a bridge between our children’s potential and their reality.
